Anaheim Concrete Contractor · Residential & Commercial

New concrete in Anaheim: patios, walkways, slabs, driveways.
One crew does it all.

Most concrete contractors won’t touch the demo. Most demo companies won’t pour concrete. We do both from driveways, patios, even a concrete retaining wall that actually holds with one crew, so nothing falls through the cracks. Family-owned in Anaheim since 2005. Licensed, bonded & insured.

Why concrete jobs go sideways

Most concrete work fails because of what happens before the pour.

A perfect finish on a lousy base is a crack waiting to happen. Because we handle both the demo/prep and the pour ourselves, we control the part most contractors outsource or rush. Here’s what changes when one crew owns the whole job.

The common way

Hire one company to prep, another to pour, and hope nothing gets lost between them.

Sub-base gets hauled off but the site never gets re-graded correctly

Compaction skipped or done dry — slab settles in the first rainy season

Two invoices, two crews, two different warranties, zero accountability

Cracks appear — demo crew blames pour, pour crew blames demo

Curing rushed because the second crew wants to get paid and move on

Hauling billed twice, site cleanup billed twice

vs.

The Sunset demolition experts way

Prep and pour from the same crew — so the base, the pour, and the finish all line up.

Subgrade compacted & moisture-conditioned before a yard of concrete arrives

Proper base rock, proper thickness, proper reinforcement (rebar or mesh as the job needs)

One quote, one schedule, one warranty — one number to call

Curing done right — wet cure or cure compound based on conditions

Hauling & cleanup included, not a surprise line item

Santos Sr. & Jr. on every residential job — not a sub, not a crew-of-the-week

Our process

Clean prep. Good pour. Proper cure. Every time.

Small patio or 2,000 sq ft commercial slab — same four-step discipline.

Meet the family

A father & son crew — still on every job.

Sunset Demolition Experts started with Santos Sr. and one pickup truck in the early 2000s. Two decades later, his son Santos Jr. runs the business alongside him — and you’ll still find one or both of them on site for every residential project.

We built the business on one stubborn rule: if we tear something out, we leave it better than we found it. That’s why we learned the concrete side ourselves instead of handing customers off to another crew. It’s more work. It’s also the reason our driveways are still holding up twenty years later.

Common questions

Answered before you ask.

In 2026 OC pricing: broom-finish standard concrete typically runs $9–$14 per square foot installed (demo, prep, pour, finish). Stamped concrete runs $14–$22 per square foot. Colored / integral color adds $2–$4 per square foot over the base finish. Exposed aggregate runs $12–$17. These are rough ranges — small jobs carry higher per-foot costs because setup/cleanup is the same regardless of size. Your exact quote depends on thickness, reinforcement, access, and finish.

Walk on it: 24 hours. Move light furniture: 3 days. Drive a passenger vehicle: 7 days. Park a heavy truck or pull a trailer: 28 days (that’s when concrete reaches full design strength). Cold or damp conditions can extend these.

We’ll get close. Perfect color match with existing aged concrete is almost impossible — old concrete has weathered, stained, and oxidized for years, and new concrete looks bright and raw for the first 12 months before it weathers in. What we can do is tint the new pour to approximate the aged tone so the transition is subtle rather than jarring. In some cases we recommend staining both old and new together to unify them.

Broom finish is the standard — a light texture brushed into fresh concrete for grip. Durable, affordable, works everywhere. Stamped presses patterns (cobblestone, flagstone, slate, wood plank) into wet concrete and is usually colored. High curb appeal, higher cost, more sensitive to freeze/thaw than broom. Exposed aggregate reveals the stone within the concrete by washing away the top cement layer — natural, textured, great for pool decks and walkways where slip resistance matters.

For driveways and any slab vehicles will drive on: yes — rebar is standard. For patios and walkways: wire mesh is typically sufficient. For large slabs over 400 sq ft or on expansive soil: rebar. For decorative patios in mild soil conditions: sometimes we recommend fiber-reinforced concrete instead of mesh. We’ll spec the reinforcement in your quote and tell you why.

Honest answer: all concrete eventually gets hairline cracks — it’s the nature of the material. What we control is where and how it cracks. We cut control joints at the right spacing and depth so cracks happen along those lines where you won’t notice them, not randomly across your finish. Proper subgrade compaction (the part we don’t skip) is what prevents the structural settlement cracks that actually ruin a slab.

Yes — commercial flatwork, parking lot patches, loading zones, ADA-compliant walkways, and mid-size commercial slabs. For very large industrial pours (10,000+ sq ft) we may partner on pump logistics, but everything is managed by the Sunset crew start to finish.

Yes. We build concrete retaining walls for residential and commercial properties, from short garden walls under 3 feet to engineered walls up to 12 feet. Because we handle the excavation, grading, and pour in-house, drainage and compaction behind the wall get done right the first time, which is where most retaining wall failures start. Walls over 3 feet typically require engineered plans; we’ll tell you upfront if that applies and can coordinate with a structural engineer.

Ready when you are

One crew. One quote. One really good pour.

Most homeowners get a quote within 24 hours. No deposits required. No high-pressure sales. Just the price, the timeline, and a crew that knows what they’re doing.
